Step by Step for the mmsgirlsorphanage.org WordPress site
Generally, in WordPress you have pages and you have posts.
1.
Pages are considered to be more stable. They are the structure of the site, and they are in the Menu and Submenues.
For example we have a Vision, Gallery and so on.
Posts have more a news character (something new), they have been rarely used, f ex Building the New House p1 etc. But they can be used more in the future.
When logged in go to the left column at the top, you see the name of the site
then left the Dashboard, Jetpack and Posts.
Have a look around.

Select Page (left col) > Add Page > Add title
Then click anywhere
Type / to choose a block [+]
>Paragraph

How to start a new Post
Select Posts (left col) > Add Post > Add title
Then click anywhere
Type / to choose a block [+]
(F ex images march 2026… , or A new water tank…)

The following you don’t need as a beginner:
If you want to change something from the appearance of the page, how it shows, so in the left column on the wp-admin page (https://mmsgirlsorphanage.org/wp-admin), there’s a lot to look out for.
Go to the left column where a top it has the title of the site (Mona MIA…) and so further down go to appearance and then customise.
So let’s say you want to change some text on any page
On the wp-admin page (https://mmsgirlsorphanage.org/wp-admin),
> Pages > All pages
find your page >Edit
Sometimes you have to go to the plug-in page and update the plug-ins as shown.

My advice is to start a text post to get some exercise. It can be deleted later.

How to add a picture or image to the site?
The picture which you want to upload first of all,
Put it in a dedicated folder on your computer.
Write down the name of the of the image and the path,
the path describes the folder the images in, and the higher folders
all the way to the root.
Go to & log in
mmsgirlsorphanage.org/wp-admin
In the left column, go to posts > and post
Once it is open add a title, such as “images-2026” or “images-2026B”
(pictures can also be assembled in what is called a gallery,
This is not discussed here. But there’s plenty of information on the web.
There’s probably also a plug-in for a gallery on WordPress,
In the left corner, go to plug-in and check.)
Back on the page which now has a title, click on the plus button, or write a forward slash: ” / “
And from the context list, choose image.
The easiest way to upload this image is the following:
From the folder where your image is located,
With your mouse drag and drop this image on the WordPress page.
You can add a caption of for this image.
For this you click on the image once and there is a menu coming up,
with several items or buttons,
Left of “Replace” there is a small square with three dots.
Click on it and you can activate the caption mode,
meaning you can now write something below the image.
And of course you can start another bloke below this image,
where you can write any text.
Experiment and you’ll see it quite easy.
